All Registered Florida Dirt Bowl Drivers:
The
Florida Dirt Bowl registration is now over. The drivers listed below
have registered, paid and are eligible to compete for the Florida
Dirt Bowl Drivers Prize Funds which we have been raising over the
past 4 months. We did not raise as much as we had hoped, but we
started late in the year, well after many of the major corporations
had already allocated their sponsorship dollars out. We have learned
a lot from this process and will be better prepared, having more
experience at raising money for well-deserving competitors next
year.
We
raised a grand total of $3,217.75. We have already paid out $200
to the MiniStocks at the Volusia County Speedway, leaving $3017.75.
The cost of the Florida Dirt Bowl t-shirts was $560.68, leaving
us $2,457.07 to be paid out in Drivers Prize Funds to 6 classes.
The classes in which drivers registered and paid are the Street
Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Box Stocks, Late Models and Open
Wheeled Modifieds. $2,457.07 divided by 6 comes to $409.51 per class.
We are rounding it out to maintain at least a $50 balance in the
Florida Dirt Bowl checking accnt., and will pay out $400 to each
class.
In
addition to Prize Funds, there will be Gift Certificates and other
prizes handed out to the drivers....
This
$400 will be divided into THREE CHECKS. Two for $100 and another
for $200. At the end of each feature race, places 1 through 7 will
be eligible for selection. A number will be randomly selected (from
1 thru 7), with the first two draws receiving the $100 checks and
the second draw awarded the $200 check. Our intentions are to spread
out the funds and give everyone a chance at taking home some $$$.
There
has been many more expenses associated with this effort, which the
Florida Dirt Bowl Board of Directors have personally covered in
an effort to raise money for the drivers.
Postage
over $60
NonProfit Corporation Registration $78
Envelopes for mailouts $32
Paper, toner, blank DVDs, labels, poster boards and associated supplies
over $200
These costs have been deferred in order to facilitate maximum return
to the drivers.
After
a month or two rest, we will be starting up our drive for Florida
Dirt Bowl 2009! We fell short of our $20,000 goal this year, but
now possess the experience, knowledge and support to be better prepared
for next year's fund raising activities. We consider it an honor
to put forth the effort to raise money for one of the most dedicated,
determined and driven groups of sportsmen (and women) in our country;
American DIRT TRACK RACERS!
Our
only objective is to raise as much money as we possibly can, and
award every cent of that BACK to the dirt racing drivers.
